Ryan Poplawski focuses his practice on general litigation assisting clients in the areas of personal injury, products liability, professional malpractice and commercial litigation. He approaches litigation matters as a trusted adviser offering clients practical and timely advice throughout the engagement that supports the business and individual objectives of the case. Mr. Poplawski has successfully obtained summary judgments and tried cases to verdict.
He frequently advises and defends clients in matters related to trucking litigation, accident investigation, labor law claims, wrongful death suits, and premises and products liability issues. In addition, he advises trucking and transportation clients concerning compliance with safety regulations, the Motor Carrier Safety Act and the Department of Transportation; the best practices to limit exposure; review of contracts and leases; compliance with recordkeeping requirements; and OSHA and contamination matters.
Mr. Poplawski also represents institutions, such as major hospital systems, community hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient programs, health care systems and individual clients with New York Mental Hygiene proceedings and matters including: Article 81 Guardianships; Article 17-A Guardianships for the developmentally disabled; and Article 9 petitions for both involuntary retention and treatments over objection.
He served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Glenn T. Suddaby in the District Court for the Northern District of New York while in law school.
