Thomas C. Buckel, Jr. Appointed Board President of Legal Aid Society and Legal Services of Central New York
Syracuse, New York Hancock Estabrook, LLP, Counselors at Law,is pleased to announce Thomas C. Buckel, Jr., Firm partner, was appointed President of Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc. and Legal Services of Central New York, Inc.
Mr. Buckel specializes in commercial litigation. He represents local and national clients in various business disputes including antitrust, banking, construction, contracts, elections, employment, environmental, intellectual property, professional malpractice, securities, tax and unfair competition. He also provides strategic, political and legislative advice to a wide range of corporate, partnership, not-for-profit, and educational clients.
Throughout his career Mr. Buckel has been actively committed to public service, including a past candidacy for Congress and service on numerous community Boards and causes. He currently serves on the LeMoyne College Board of Regents, the L’Arche Board of Directors, CNY Everson Museum Board Member , the Sisters of St. Francis Development Committee and Catholic Charity Refugee Resettlement Committee. He is a member of federal, state and local bar associations and lectures before trade and business associations.
Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc. and Legal Services of Central New York, Inc. both provide free civil legal services to residents throughout 13 counties in Upstate New York (including Syracuse, Binghamton, Utica, Rome, Oswego and Watertown) who otherwise could not afford legal representation.
