SU College of Law’s Hancock Estabrook First-Year Moot Court Competition A Success

The Firm was proud to serve as the sponsor of the Hancock Estabrook First-Year Moot Court Competition at Syracuse University College of Law. This is a particularly noteworthy competition, since it is open solely to first year law students. A total of 78 students participated in 56 rounds of the competition over four days. Various attorneys volunteered to serve as judges in the semifinal round, including Cora Alsante, Mike Arcuri, Dan Berman, Tom Cambier, Jim Hughes, Bucky Meagher and Bob Whitaker. Janet Callahan and Tim Murphy served as Scoring Evaluators for the final round of the competition, which was presided over by U.S. Magistrate Judge David E. Peebles, a former Hancock Estabrook partner prior to his appointment to the bench.  The final round was held in Hendricks Chapel, on the Syracuse University campus, on Wednesday, February 20.
