Richard W. Cook Elected New Managing Partner

Syracuse, New York Hancock Estabrook, LLP, Counselors at Law, announced that Richard W. Cook has been elected by the partnership as Managing Partner of the Firm.

Mr. Cook practices Corporate and Banking Law. Most recently, he has represented clients in acquisitions and mergers, private equity offerings, syndicated loan transactions, asset based loan transactions, letter of credit transactions, manufacturing facility bonds, health care facility bonds, and school district and municipal obligation bonds.

He joined Hancock Estabrook, LLP in 1975, became a Partner in 1981, and has served as the head of Firm’s Business Department since 1996. He is also a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee.

Mr. Cook holds a law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law, and an undergraduate degree from SUNY Brockport.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Onondaga County Bar Association, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the New York State Economic Development Council and the New York State Business Council. Mr. Cook is a member of the Advisory Board of HSBC Bank USA. He has also been involved in community activities such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Syracuse, the YMCA of Greater Syracuse and the American Heart Association. He has two children and lives in Fayetteville with his wife, Maggie.
