Martin L. Fried Receives New York State Bar Pro Bono Award
Syracuse, New York Hancock Estabrook, LLP is pleased to announce that Martin L. Fried, of counsel, has been awarded the New York State Bar Association’s prestigious President’s Pro Bono Service Award for attorneys in the Fifth Judicial District.
The New York State Bar Association President’s Pro Bono Service Award is presented to attorneys who have rendered extraordinary pro bono service. It was established to recognize and thank the individuals who provide such service and to convey to the profession and the public the importance of pro bono service in achieving equal access to justice.
Mr. Fried is a member of the American, New York State and Onondaga County Bar Associations. He is a director for the Onondaga Bar Association Foundation, a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a member of the New York State Bar Association President’s Committee on Access to Justice. Mr. Fried, the Crandall Melvin Professor of Wills and Trusts at Syracuse University College of Law, has over 40 years of experience in personal, corporate, real estate and estate taxation. He is the author of Taxation of Securities Transactions and numerous articles on taxation and trust and estates.
