Marguerite A. Massett Appointed Committee Co-Chair of Hospitals and Health Systems by the New York State Bar Association

Syracuse, New York Hancock Estabrook, LLP is pleased to announce that Marguerite A. Massett was recently appointed by the New York State Bar Association’s Health Law Section as Co-Chair of its’ Committee on Hospitals and Health Systems.

The Hospitals and Health Systems Committee brings together members of the NYSBA’s Health Law Section who advise clients on the unique legal issues that arise in the operation of a hospital, a health care delivery system, or other licensed or certified health care facilities. Members include both in-house counsel employed by such facilities and those privately practicing attorneys who are retained by such facilities on a case-by-case basis or as general counsel. The focus of the committee is not only the general legal issues that arise in facility-based health care delivery, but also the complex regulatory issues that impact the operations of such facilities.

Ms. Massett has diverse experience in health care operations, insurance, managed care reimbursement and health care public policy. She counsels clients on topics including physician and hospital contracting, joint ventures, regulatory compliance matters, health care risk management (including utilization review, quality assurance and credentialing), and third-party payor contract negotiations. She is a graduate of George Mason University School of Law and State University of New York at Cortland.
