Laurel E. Baum, Keynote Speaker at RN/LPN Leadership Series

Syracuse, New York Hancock Estabrook, LLP, Counselors at Law, announced that Laurel E. Baum will be speaking on topic of “Nursing Documentation in Patient Medical Records, including issues such as Regulatory, Malpractice and Reimbursement,” for the Rural Health Network of Oswego County.

The Rural Health Network of Oswego County’s first RN/LPN Leadership Module is on Documentation and is being held at the Seneca Hill Health Complex in Oswego on Tuesday, October 26, 2004. Ms. Baum holds a law degree from the University at Buffalo Law School and a bachelor of science degree from Widener University. She has extensive clinical, operational and regulatory experience. Her practice experience includes Medicare and Medicaid compliance, EMTALA issues, HIPAA privacy matters and the various federal and state regulatory initiatives impacting the health care field. Ms. Baum has assisted health care clients with issues involving contract development, physician extenders, bioethics and patient care. Prior to joining the Firm, she served as a compliance officer for a hospital associated with a major academic medical center. Ms. Baum was also a registered nurse with clinical experience in pediatrics and intensive care.
