John Powers and Bob Whitaker Receive Syracuse Vet Center Awards

Hancock Estabrook attorneys John G. Powers and Robert C. Whitaker were recently recognized by the Syracuse Vet Center, celebrating their involvement with the Onondaga County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Legal Clinic, located at the Syracuse Vet Center. The Clinic, now in its fourth year, was started by John Powers. As the word has spread about the clinic, Veterans of all generations have been assisted and additional attorneys, who are also Veterans themselves, have also been recruited to volunteer. Advice and counsel has been provided on a variety of legal issues, including bankruptcy, credit issues, family services, referrals for upgrades of military discharges, criminal charges and more. John and Bob, along with several other local attorneys, were recognized at the ceremony for their commitment to providing pro bono legal services for our Central New York Veterans.
