John L. Murad, Jr. Appointed to Serve on Governor-Elect Transition Advisory Committee

Syracuse, New York Hancock Estabrook, LLP, Counselors at Law, is pleased to announce that John L. Murad, Jr., Firm partner, has been appointed by Governor-Elect Eliot Spitzer and Lieutenant Governor-Elect David Paterson to serve on the Government Reform Policy Advisory Committee. The Policy Advisory Committee’s mission is to make recommendation to the Governor- Elect and is composed of a diverse group of leading experts and thought leaders from throughout the state. The Government Reform Policy Advisory Committee is being Co-Chaired by former Attorney General Robert Abrams and Leecia Roberta Eve.

Mr. Murad has tried cases involving the defense of the business and health care community in state and federal courts for more than 20 years, and he serves as a mediator for personal injury and commercial litigation matters for the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. Mr. Murad is the leader of the Firm’s Professional Liability practice group.

Mr. Murad holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor of arts cum laude from Hamilton College. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the New York State and Onondaga County Bar Associations, International Association of Defense Counsel, Federation of Corporate, and Defense Counsel and Loss Executives Association. Mr. Murad is the past Board Chairman for the American Red Cross, Onondaga-Oswego Chapter.
