New Attorneys

Hancock Estabrook takes pride in providing associates with hands-on experience to build a solid foundation for their legal practice. We offer in-house and outside legal and non-legal training opportunities that allow new attorneys to develop and sharpen their skills. Hancock Estabrook’s mentoring program for associates assures that new attorneys are directly supervised and connected to seasoned attorneys who can provide impactful and positive experiences for new attorneys to learn the practice of law and flourish professionally.

New attorneys begin their legal careers with exposure to the various industry and practice groups within the Firm, allowing them to develop their skills and interests in different areas. During their first year, new associates are not formally assigned to a practice or industry group, which gives them an opportunity to explore the full spectrum of Hancock Estabrook’s practice areas and the variety of matters handled by the Firm. At the end of this transition year, associates are assigned to industry and practice groups. We give great weight to the interests and skills of our new attorneys in making assignments, as well as taking our staffing needs into account.
