- COVID-19 Unemployment Claims– Employers have reported increased fraudulent claims by employees during the COVID crisis. This will address the DOL’s current review of contested claims and how employers can best insulate against and respond to fraudulent claims.
- The Virtual Workplace– Wage and Hour Considerations for Remote Work in the COVID Era. Many employers have been forced to embrace a virtual workplace due to the pandemic. We will identify key policies and practices to help employers avoid potential claims for unpaid wages and overtime by employees who work remotely.
- Employment Discrimination Cases– We will review recent discrimination cases alleging sex and disability discrimination in violation of state and federal law. The presentation will teach lessons learned from mistakes made by other employers to help employers develop strategies and practices to prevent similar liability.
