Elder Law/Medicaid/Estate Administration Paralegal –Syracuse

Hancock Estabrook, LLP, one of Upstate New York’s leading law firms, located in downtown Syracuse, is seeking a full-time Paralegal for its Trusts and Estates Department/Elder Law Practice Group.

Responsibilities

• Direct communication with clients and their families
• Preparation of Medicaid Application
• Understanding of the New York Medicaid eligibility rules
• Probate and estate administration

Qualifications

• 2+ years of law firm or Trusts & Estates experience
• Thorough understanding of the Medicaid process
• Superior interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to handle probate and estate administration

The salary range for this position is $50,000-60,000 annually and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, including the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications and skill set.
