Our History

Our Firm was founded in 1889 and has continuously maintained offices in downtown Syracuse since that time. To this day, the Firm's history is carried on by our continued relationship with the founder's grandson, Stewart F. Hancock, Jr., who served on New York State's highest tribunal, the Court of Appeals. Other partners of our Firm have gone on to serve as judges and public officers, including a New York State Commissioner of Taxation, a New York State Attorney General and a United States Congressman.
