START-UP NY Resource Page

Welcome to Hancock Estabrook’s START-UP NY resource page, where you can find an ongoing and growing archive of articles, links and other relevant information related to the START-UP NY initiative. We encourage you to visit this page for regular updates.

On June 24, 2013, New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed into law legislation creating the SUNY Tax-Free Areas to Revitalize and Transform Upstate NY program (START-UP NY).

START-UP NY is derived from the Governor’s proposed Tax-Free NY initiative and provides incentives designed to encourage certain types of new business in the State.

Our lawyers will stay abreast of this burgeoning initiative and are ready to educate our New York State-based and out-of-state-based clients on the wide variety of legal issues they need to address and strategically consider, in order to qualify as participants, including legal issues relating to employment, financing, intellectual property, legislative, regulatory and tax matters.

START-UP NY officially begins January 1, 2014. We invite you to connect with any member of our team listed on the right sidebar for more information.
